Below are some basic guidelines for international applicants of UiTM's Postgraduate Programmes.


Academic Qualification



English Language Proficiency

Applicant must show proficiency in English as all programmes are conducted in English.

English entry requirement for an international student is as follows: English Competency Requirement for UiTM Postgraduate (Master & PhD)

Full admission will be granted to applicant who fullfil this criteria:

1. TOEFL certificate with a score of at least
• 550 for (PBT: Paper Based Test), or
• 213 (CBT: Computer Based Test), or
• 80 (IBT: Internet Based Test)
IELTS Certificate with Band 6.0 or above
MUET Band 4.0

2. Applicant who do not meet the English proficiency requirements is required to attend and pass the SIX (6) months English Proficiency Class (EPC) prior enrollment to the program.

At the end of the EPC, candidate is required to sit for IELTS/TOEFL/MUET examination with the score as below:

i. IELTS certificate with Band 6.0 or
ii. TOEFL certificate with a score  at least 550 for (paper based), or 213 (computer based), or 80  (IBT) or
iii. MUET Band 4.0

3. International applicants following courses and/or writing thesis/dissertation in languages other than English;

i. IELTS 4.0 or
ii. TOEFL certificate with a score  at least 400 for (PBT: Paper Based Test), or  97 (CBT: Computer iii. Based Test), or 32  (IBT: Internet Based Test) or MUET Band 3

4. Any English Language Test which is equivalent to B2 in common European Framework of Reference for Language (CEFR).

5. Exemption from UiTM English Language requirement if candidate:

i)  has obtained Bachelor / Master or other relevant degree from a recognized Malaysian university or;
ii) a native of an English speaking country Appendix : List of countries or;  
iii)graduated from any higher learning institution which uses English Language as the medium of instruction Appendix : List of countries

There are two intakes per academic calendar year - in March and September. However, application for *research programme is open throughout the year.






Visa Conditions


Refund Policy



A New Student are allowed to defer the registration to the following semester. This can be done only once. Application for deferment of registration can be made by filling the ‘Application for Deferment of Registration’ form which is to be submitted together with a processing fee of RM50.00.

Medical Insurance

As of July 2009 intake, all international students are required to have a medical insurance policy to cover their medical costs while studying in Malaysia. International students may opt to subscribe the medical insurance policy from an appointed agent by the university upon registration. Without a medical insurance policy, the student visa will not be issued by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.


Other Conditions

The student is expected to attend all classes and undertake all tests and examinations within a course and abide by all rules and regulations of the university that are in force at any time.
