Education Excellence Award

Eligibility Criteria

1. Open to members of Bank Rakyat and/or their children.
2. An active Bank Rakyat member for more than 1 year.
3. Applicants must be a Bachelor’s degree graduates OR Master's from a public or private higher learning institutions recognized by the Ministry of Education, the Private Education Department and the Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA).
4. Applicants must be a first-class honours Degree/Master graduate (CGPA 3.5 and above).
5. Applicants must not be more than 30 years of age at the time of the closing date of the application.
6. Each registered Bank Rakyat member is only eligible to one (1) Education Excellence Award per person.
7. ONLY full-time graduates from year 2019 onwards are eligible for the Education Excellence Award.


Application Instructions

1. All applications must be submitted via the online application form.
2. Keep within the word limits specified on the application form.
3. You can upload up to three files to support your application. 2MB is the maximum size allowed for a single uploaded file and preferred file types are PDF and JPEG.
4. You are welcome to combine supporting document files into one PDF file and upload as one supporting document (ensure the PDF file size is no more than 2MB).
5. Do not upload letters of recommendation or references. Your references will be requested by us if you are shortlisted.

 
Applying

1. Applicants are required to prepare and submit all the supporting documents in an orderly manner.
2. The preferred method of application is for individuals to complete and submit their own self-application.
3. In the first instance, parents (members of Bank Rakyat) should encourage their children to complete and submit a self-application. However, to apply on behalf of one or more of their children (one application per member), parents can use the nomination form.



Shortlisting

If you are shortlisted, we will request the following from you:

1. a copy of your mycard, letter of graduation, full academic transcript, Bank Rakyat member statement, birth certificate and your Bank Rakyat Savings Account
2. a high-resolution photograph of yourself.
3. We will contact your referees to verify the information that you have provided in the application form, therefore please select referees who can comment directly on your achievements. If they are unable to provide a reference for you, your application may not be considered further. It is good practice to check that your referees are happy to provide you a reference before you enter their details.

 Pembiayaan Tanpa Insentif (Loan Without Incentive-LWI)

1. LWI adalah pembiayaan yang disediakan tanpa insentif. Tiada sebarang jumlah diskaun bayaran balik pembiayaan akan diberikan. Pelajar perlu membayar pembiayaan berdasarkan jumlah yang telah dikeluarkan tanpa sebarang kadar keuntungan.

2. Pembayaran balik pembiayaan ini berkuatkuasa selepas pengeluaran pertama dilakukan yang mana sebanyak 20% daripada jumlah pengeluaran akan dibayar ketika dalam pengajian pelajar (2 tahun – Master; 3 tahun – Ph.D). Ilustrasi pembayaran balik adalah seperti contoh dibawah;

 

i. Contoh 1(Peringkat Master)

Pelajar A (Jumlah Yuran)

RM15,000 @ 4 semester

Pengeluaran per semester

RM3,750

Kaedah Bayaran

20% daripada pengeluaran /6 bulan

Ansuran Bulanan

RM 125.00

*Dalam kes ini pelajar dikehendaki untuk membayar; RM3,750 x 20% = RM 750 for 1st semester.


ii. Contoh 2 (Peringkat Ph.D)

Pelajar B (Jumlah Yuran)

RM24,000 @ 6 semester

Pengeluaran per semester

RM4,000

Kaedah Bayaran

20% daripada pengeluaran /6 bulan

Ansuran Bulanan

*Dalam kes ini pelajar dikehendaki untuk membayar RM4,000 x 20% = RM 800 for 1st semester.


3. Jumlah pembiayaan adalah seperti berikut;

4. Permohonan hanya diterima secara atas talian di portal YBR (www.yayasanbankrakyat.com.my).
5. Pemohon harus melengkapkan semua butiran yang diperlukan. Permohonan yang TIDAK lengkap tidak akan diproses oleh pihak YBR.
6. Segala butiran permohonan haruslah disertakan dengan dokumen yang perlu dimuat naik pada ruangan yang telah disediakan.
7. Butiran tanggunggan haruslah disertakan salinan kad pengenalan atau surat beranak tanggungan tersebut. Hanya tanggungan dengan dokumen sokongan sahaja yang akan diambil kira dalam pengiraan tanggungan.

 

Syarat Kelayakan Memohon

1. Warganegara Malaysia.
2. Berumur tidak kurang 25 tahun.
3. Terbuka kepada peringkat pengajian Sarjana dan Ph.D.
4. Pemohon adalah dikehendaki untuk menyediakan dua (2) orang penjamin dengan pendapatan kasar minimum RM 1,000.00 serta berkhidmat samaada di sektor awam atau sektor swasta sahaja.(Bekerja sendiri adalah tidak diterima)
5. Jumlah pembiayaan hanyalah merangkumi yuran pengajian sahaja.
6. Permohonan terbuka kepada semua institusi awam dan swasta yang diiktiraf oleh Kerajaan Malaysia.
7. Kursus pengajian yang diikitiraf oleh Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
8. Keutamaan diberikan kepada anggota Bank Rakyat.

PPBU

What is PPBU

PPBU is offered to tertiary level education from Skills Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Professional, Master’s Degree, and Doctorate (PH.D) to deserving Malaysian. Its aim is to aid the social and economic development of Malaysians by enabling bright but needy students to receive undergraduate education at local Public OR Private Higher Learning Institutions and Training Institutes in the country on a full-time basis.

PPBU is offered to applicants who have gained admission and are in their first year of study in Higher Learning Institutions and Training Institute recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, the Private Education Department and the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the National Vocational Training Council (NVTC). PPBU provides educational assistance for undergraduate study in a wide spectrum of academic and practical subjects which in the opinion of members of the Board of Trustees of YBR are best oriented towards the social and economic development needs of country and the community.

 

APPLICANT’S ELIGIBILITY

* Is open to the poor and underprivileged Malaysians regardless of race, religion & ethnicity.
* Qualified to a FULL-TIME STUDY at local Public OR Private Higher Education Institutions and Training Institute recognized by the Government of Malaysia.
* Only fields of studies which are recognized by the Public Services Department (JPA) / Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) / Malaysian Vocational Training Council (NVTC) / Government Agencies (Malaysia) concerned and acknowledged by the Board of Trustees of YBR.
